YouTube Animation Studio Animate It. Direct It. Share Your Story! Step into the world of 3D animation and digital filmmaking! In this hands-on course, students will learn how professional animators bring characters, stories, and entire worlds to life using Blender, a powerful 3D animation and filmmaking program. Students will work with pre-built 3D characters, props, and movie sets, allowing them to jump right into animation without needing to create complicated 3D models from scratch. They'll learn how to make characters walk, move, react, and perform while exploring the same fundamental techniques used by professional animators. Throughout the course, students will learn about character animation, timing, acting, camera angles, camera movement, lighting, special effects, sound, and visual storytelling. They'll experiment with creating different shots and scenes while discovering how directors use cameras, movement, and editing to tell a story and keep an audience engaged. Students will also explore what goes into creating animated content for platforms like YouTube, including planning an idea, developing a short story, creating scenes, and turning those scenes into a finished animated production. As the course progresses, each student will develop their own original animated short film, taking their project from an initial idea through animation and final production. The course concludes with our Film Festival, where students will have the opportunity to premiere their finished animated shorts for friends, family, and fellow creators.
