Service Description

Ages 14+ FTC Robotics Competition Team Take robotics to the next level by joining our FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics Team! This is more than a robotics class—students will become part of a real competitive robotics team and work together to design, build, program, test, and compete with a full-size FTC competition robot. Throughout the program, team members will experience the complete engineering process from concept to competition. Students will analyze the season's FTC challenge, brainstorm solutions, create designs, build mechanical systems, wire electronics, program the robot, and continuously test and improve their design. Students will explore multiple areas of STEM and engineering, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer programming, CAD design, manufacturing, robotics, and automation. Team members will work with motors, sensors, gears, structural components, control systems, and other real-world robotics technology. Programming is a major part of the challenge. Students will learn how to program their robot to respond to driver controls as well as develop autonomous routines that allow the robot to complete challenges on its own. But FTC is about much more than building a robot. Students will learn how a real engineering team operates by developing skills in problem-solving, teamwork, project management, communication, documentation, strategy, and leadership. As competition approaches, the team will refine its robot, practice driving, develop match strategies, troubleshoot problems, and prepare to compete against other FTC teams. Become Part of the Team Students may participate in areas including: Robot design and mechanical engineering CAD and 3D modeling Fabrication and manufacturing Electronics and wiring Programming and autonomous controls Sensors and robotics Testing and troubleshooting Competition strategy and robot driving Engineering documentation Team presentations and outreach No previous robotics or programming experience is required. Students will learn through hands-on experience while working alongside their teammates.
