Service Description

8-Week Game Development with Unity Design It. Code It. Play It! Have you ever wondered how video games are actually made? In this hands-on 8-Week Game Development with Unity course, students will step into the role of a real game developer as they learn how to design, program, test, and improve their own interactive video games. Using Unity, one of the world's most popular game development platforms, students will learn the fundamentals of game design while being introduced to C# programming. No previous programming or game development experience is required. Students will learn step-by-step while creating playable projects throughout the course. Students will begin by exploring the Unity interface and learning how to create scenes, place and modify GameObjects, work with Components, and write their first C# scripts. As their skills grow, they will learn important programming concepts including variables, data types, user input, conditional statements, arrays, methods, functions, loops, and object interaction. The course then moves into the exciting mechanics that make games come alive. Students will experiment with physics, collisions, rigidbodies, player movement, animation, particle effects, sound, and third-person character controls. They will also learn how professional games use user interfaces, including text, buttons, game managers, mouse events, and scene management. Throughout the eight weeks, students will work on increasingly challenging game-development activities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, debugging, and independent thinking. Instead of simply playing games, students will begin understanding the engineering and programming happening behind the screen. By the end of the course, students will combine their new skills to develop a more complete playable game project that demonstrates what they have learned. Students will learn: Unity game development C# programming fundamentals GameObjects, Components, and scripts Player movement and controls Game physics and collision detection Animation and particle effects Sound and visual effects Third-person character controls User interface design Game testing and debugging Creative problem-solving and game design No previous coding experience required. Over eight weeks, students won't just learn how video games work—they'll learn how to build them.
